TUKWILA, Wash.--- Andy Rose and Kenny Cooper each tallied two goals as the Seattle Sounders FC soundly defeated the Chicago Fire 6-0 at the Starfire Sports Complex in the semifinal of the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Cooper is the leading goal scorer in this year's U.S. Open Cup with six tallies.

Union outlast FC Dallas to advance to Open Cup Final

FRISCO, TX – The Philadelphia Union have made the most of their U.S. Open Cup matches. Late game heroics, results that needed extra time to be resolved, and a mid-game storm stoppage have all occurred during the Union’s Open Cup competitions. With the excitement of the contests that preceded, it was only fitting that Tuesday’s semifinal game against FC Dallas needed penalties for Philadelphia to earn the right to move on in the tournament, 1-1 (4-3).

ATLANTA – The Chicago Fire defeated the Atlanta Silverbacks 3-1 Wednesday evening at Silverbacks Park in the quarterfinal round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. After both sides were reduced to ten men, second half goals from Quincy Amarikwa, Jeff Larentowicz and Alex led the Fire to victory.
