Morelia 2, Cruz Azul 0
Last-place Morelia (2-4-8, 10 pts) surprised fifth-place Cruz Azul 2-0 Friday at Estadio Morelos.

It was only the second win of the season for the struggling Monarcas. Carlos Adrian Morales netted the game-winning free kick in the 37th minute, and Daniel Arreola added an insurance goal off an assist from Morales in the 71st. The goals came on Morelia's only two shots on goal.

Goalkeeper Jorge Villalpando also came up big for Morelia, fending off an array of dangerous shots. in the 20th minute, he dove to block Mauro Formica's shot from the edge of the penalty area. in the 63rd, he turned aside Chaco Gimenez's free kick, and six minutes later denied Maza Rodriguez on a short-range header.

The loss leaves La Maquina at 6-4-4, with 22 points.

Chiapas 1, Veracruz 1
Chiapas (4-5-5, 17 pts) recovered from a first-half own goal to tie Veracruz 1-1 Friday at Estadio Victor Manuel Reyna.

Aviles Hurtado netted the equalizer in the 78th minute. Adrian Marin Lugo did the heavy lifting, beating his defender on the right flank and sending a perfect cross into the penalty area for Hurtado. Matias Vuoso gifted Veracruz (6-6-2, 24) a 1-0 halftime lead by redirecting Gabriel Penalba's free kick into his own net in the 45th minute.

Tijuana 1, Chivas 1
Omar Bravo's 66th-minute goal lifted Chivas de Guadalajara into a 1-1 tie with Tijuana Friday at Estadio Caliente.

Bravo's strike, set up by Aldo Di Nigris with a pinpoint centering pass, countered a 16th-minute tally by Xolos' Jesus Chavez, who scored off a corner kick. Both teams took 15 shots in the fast-paced match, but only put three on frame.

The result kept Chivas (7-4-3, 25 pts) on top of the Clausura standings for another week. Xolos fall to 7-3-4 (24).

Queretaro 4, America 0
Ronaldinho scored twice in the final four minutes as Queretaro (6-2-6, 20 pts) romped past Club America 4-0 Saturday at Estadio Azteca.

The Gallos Blancos led 2-0 when the Brazilian star opened his brace in the 86th minute, off Danilinho's assist. He connected again, from the top of the arc, in the 90th.

Yaser Corona netted the game-winner with a booming free kick in the 24th minute, and Orbelin Pineda made the score 2-0 on the cusp of halftime.

America fall to sixth place with 22 points (6-4-4).

Atlas 1, Puebla 0
Atlas (6-4-4, 22 pts) edged relegation-threatened Puebla 1-0 Saturday at Estadio Universitario BUAP.

Cristian Suarez scored the game's only goal, blasting a shot into the right corner in the 41st minute. La Franja (4-4-6, 16 pts) had their best chance to equalize in the 67th minute, when Luis Enrique Robles sent a wide-open header wide of the target, and finished the match shorthanded after midfielder Alberto Acosta was sent off in the 82nd minute.

Tigres 3, Monterrey 0
Tigres scored three times in the second half to run away from Monterrey 3-0 Saturday at Estadio Universitario.

Edgar Lugo opened the scoring in the 56th minute. the game turned into a rout when Rafael Sobis (84th minute) and Enrique Esqueda (88th) added late goals.

Tigres are fourth in the standings with 22 points (7-1-6). Monterrey (5-2-7, 17) are 13th.

Leon 1, Toluca 1
Leon (3-4-7, 13 pts) rallied to a 1-1 draw with visiting Toluca Saturday at Estadio Nou Camp.

After a scoreless first half, Wilder Guisao staked the Diablos Rojos (5-5-4, 20) to a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute. Carlos Pena equalized for the Esmeraldas in the 78th. Both shots came from well outside the penalty area.

Pumas 1, Santos Laguna 0
Gerardo Alcoba scored in the seventh minute and Pumas (6-2-6, 20 pts) held on for a 1-0 win over Santos Laguna (5-3-6, 18) Sunday at Estadio Olimpico Universitario.

The Guerreros played the final 13 minutes shorthanded after Carlos Roberto Izquierdoz received his second yellow card of the match and was sent off in the 77th.

Leones Negros 1, Pachuca 1
Leones Negros played Pachuca to a 1-1 draw Sunday at Estadio Jalisco.

Erick Gutierrez opened the scoring for the Tuzos (5-4-5, 19 pts) in the 19th minute, pushing the shot home from close range after a perfect set-up pass from Ariel Nahuelpan. Twenty minutes later, Pachuca 'keeper Oscar Perez soared to pick off Juan Carlos Anangono's potential equalizing header. Anangono also hit the crossbar before Fidel Martinez finally countered for U de G (4-3-7, 15) in the 76th. The goal came 13 minutes after Tuzos defender Aquivaldo Mosquero received his second yellow card and was sent off.
