Leones Negros 1, Morelia 0
Leones Negros extended their winning streak to three games with a 1-0 victory over Morelia Friday at Estadio Morelos.

Fidel Martinez wrapped things up early, heading the game-winner past netminder Felipe Rodriguez in the 14th minute. Monarcas' best chance to equalize came in the 80th minute, when Armando Zamorano hit the crossbar.

U de G climbs into tenth place at 4-1-5 and 13 points. The loss left Morelia at the bottom of the standings at 1-3-6 (6).

Tijuana 3, Veracruz 1
First-place Tijuana (7-2-1, 23 pts) scored twice in the second half to pull away from Veracruz 3-1 Friday at Estadio Caliente.

Juan Arango scored the game-winner in the 57th minute, floating a picturebook free kick into the upper left corner, and Gabriel Hauche added an insurance tally off the rebound of another Arango shot in the 72nd.

The teams traded goals before the intermission, starting with Alfredo Moreno's close-range header off Dayro Moreno's corner kick service for Xolos in the 17th minute. Fernando Meneses equalized from the spot four minutes later, after Daniel Villalva was fouled in the penalty area.

The Tiburones Rojos (5-4-1, 19) trail Xolos by four points at the top of the table.

America 1, Santos Laguna 0
Michael Arroyo scored the only goal Club America needed to defeat Santos Laguna 1-0 Saturday at Estadio Azteca.

Arroyo scored in the 71st minute. Rubens Sambueza set up the play with a well-placed pass into the heart of the penalty area.

The Guerreros (3-2-5, 11 pts) did not put a single shot on goal, and finished the match shorthanded after Adrian Aldrete received two yellow cards in seven minutes and was sent off in the 85th.

The Aguilas are third in the standings at 5-3-2 (18 pts).

Chivas 2, Puebla 1
Erick Torres came off the bench to score two goals and lift Chivas de Guadalajara (5-2-3, 17 pts) over Puebla 2-1 Saturday at Estadio Universitario BUAP.

Torres entered the match in the 60th minute, leveled the score 1-1 with a header in the 73rd and netted the game-winner in the 87th, splitting two defenders with a shot that diving 'keeper Rodolfo Cota was unable to reach.

Puebla (4-3-3, 15) went up 1-0 on Luis Rey's 28th-minute penalty kick.

Tigres 2, Pachuca 1
Joffre Guerron scored in the 80th minute to give Tigres a 2-1 win over Pachuca Saturday at Estadio Universitario.

The win left Tigres (5-0-5, 15 pts) within a tiebreaker of playoff position, in ninth place.

Tigres took a 1-0 lead on a seventh-minute goal by Rafael Sobis, who snagged the rebound after goalkeeper Oscar Perez blocked a long-range shot on goal, but fell into a 1-1 tie when Pachuca's German Cano scored off a header two minutes before the intermission.

Guerron, who cracked a first-half shot off the crossbar, sealed the win from just off the goalline.

The Tuzos fall to 3-2-5 (11).

Leon 2, Cruz Azul 2
Leon (3-3-4, 12 pts) shook off a disastrous start to salvage a 2-2 draw with Cruz Azul (4-4-2, 16) Saturday at Estadio Nou Camp.

The Esmeraldas fell behind early, surrendering goals to La Maquina's Alemao in the 13th minute and Gerardo Flores in the 20th. Alemao redirected the ball in from just off the back post, while Flores snagged the rebound after netminder Willliam Yarbrough stopped a penalty attempt by Roque Santa Cruz.

Martin Bravo's 36th-minute strike pulled Leon within one in the 36th minute, and Luis Montes leveled the score with a free kick from outside the arc in the 63rd. The match finished ten-on-ten after a 68th-minute altercation resulted in red cards to both Flores and Leon forward Jose Maria Cardenas.

Atlas 2, Monterrey 1
Atlas eked out a 2-1 win over Monterrey Saturday at Estadio Jalisco.

The match remained scoreless until Juan Carlos Medina put the Zorros (5-2-3, 17 pts) on the board off a 73rd minute corner kick. Alfonso Gonzalez made the score 2-0 with a penalty kick in the 89th, after Keno was fouled in the box, and that turned out to be the game-winner. Luis Madrigal took one back for the Rayados (3-1-6, 10) in stoppage time, latching on to the third rebound after a wild flurry in front of the Atlas goal.

Pumas 2, Chiapas 0
Pumas (3-2-5, 11 pts) overpowered Chiapas 2-0 Saturday at Estadio Victor Manuel Reyna.

UNAM put nine shots on goal, to only three for Jaguares (3-3-4, 12). Ismael Sosa netted the game-winner in the 14th minute, charging into the penalty area for a through ball from Josecarlos Van Rankin, and David Cabrera added an insurance tally in the 84th.

Chiapas played the final 25 minutes shorthanded after defender William Paredes received his second yellow card and was sent off in the 65th minute. it was the second straight match that Jaguares lost a player to ejection.

Toluca 1, Queretaro 0
Marco Bueno's stoppage-time goal lifted eighth-place Toluca (4-3-3, 15 pts) over Queretaro 1-0 Sunday at Estadio Nemesio Diez.

Bueno's goal came in the first minute of stoppage, ten minutes after Queretaro's George Corral received his second yellow card of the match and was sent off, leaving the Gallos Blancos (2-2-6, 8) shorthanded. Bueno won the game with a powerful header that passed just out of reach of diving netminder Tiago Volpi.
