Villanova junior midfielder Miguel Polley is one of three nominees for the Philly Soccer News men’s college player of the year and the Soccer News Net Men’s College Boot, recognizing the national player of the year.

Polley led the Wildcats (10-8-3) with six goals (three game-winners) and eight assists as ‘Nova qualified for the NCAA Men’s Championship for the first time. Polley and teammate Shane Bradley were named to the NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region Second Team and Polley and Bradley were joined by teammate Andreas Bartosinski on the All-Big East Second Team.

Polley, one of four ‘Nova players to start all 21 games, combined with Zach Zandi to drive the ‘Nova midfield. Polley began his collegiate career at Temple, leading the Owls with three assists in 2014, then transferring to Villanova, leading the Wildcats with six assists in 2015. Polley’s five Big East assists tied Majed Osman (Xavier) and Jared Timmer (Butler) for the conference lead.

Polley was named the Philly Soccer News Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 31.

Fan voting accounts for 40% of the total toward selection of the Soccer News Net College Boot, and the winner of the popular voting receives the Soccer News Net Supporters’ Choice award.
