Temple knocks off St. Joe’s

Kia Kuokka scored in the 57th minute to give Temple a 1-0 win over Saint Joseph’s at Finnessy Field on Saturday, spoiling the Hawks chances for a spot in the Atlantic 10 tournament.

Kuokka gathered a loose ball following a corner kick and sent an arching shot into the upper right corner of the net from 12 yards out.

Saint Joseph’s outshot the Owls 11-4, forcing Gillian Kacsuta to make five saves while the Hawks’ Christine Neal did not have to make any.
Temple improved to 7-11-1 and 3-8-0 in the Atlantic 10. Saint Joe’s falls to 7-9-3 and 4-6-1 in the A-10.
