St. Joe's women destroyed by Dayton

KINGSTON, R.I. -- The top-seeded Saint Joseph's women's team had its 19-game unbeaten streak snapped with a 7-0 loss to seventh-seeded Dayton in the Atlantic 10 Championship final at the URI Soccer Complex Sunday.

Saint Joseph's (18-2-2) had been unbeaten since a 1-0 defeat at Rutgers Aug. 26. Dayton (9-9-3) took a 2-0 halftime lead as Libby Leedon (38th minute) and Micayla Livingston (39th) finished crosses.

Leedon and Alexis Kiehl scored twice and Beth Kamphaus once in the second half as the Flyers had a 29-5 shots advantage.

Hawks sophomore goalkeeper Grace Bendon, sophomore striker Dakota Mills and freshman midfielder Gabrielle Vagnozzi were named to the all-tournament team.
