Penn Quakers conclude season
PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Penn Quakers menís team was blanked, 3-0, by Columbia in its final Ivy League match of the season at Roberts Stadium Wednesday night.
The Quakers (5-5-6 overall, 3-3-1 Ivy) lost to the Lions, 2-1, in extra time earlier this season. The teams were playing a makeup game at neutral site after Harvard canceled its final two games of the season.
The Lions (12-4-1, 4-1-1) controlled possession, Francisco Agrestís early shot saved by Etan Mabourakh. After Pennís Sam Wancowicz had an attempt, Agrest scored on a feed from Rhys Williams in the 13th minute. Penn captain Alec Neumann, second in the league in scoring with nine goals, headed high off a Gavin Barger corner kick in the 20th minute. Zach Morant upped the lead on a 65th-minute penalty kick. After freshman Sam Hefterís near-miss, the Lions scored on an 82nd-minute counter, Arthur Bosua finishing after a Kynan Rocks shot deflected off Mabourakh.
