Penn Quaker men hold Tigers; Lions next

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The University of Pennsylvania men's team improved its Ivy League unbeaten streak to three games, playing to a 2-2 draw with Princeton at Roberts Stadium Saturday night.

Senior captains Matt Poplawski and Alec Neumann netted as Penn (5-5-6 overall, 3-2-1 Ivy) set a program record for draws.

The Tigers (7-7-2, 1-3-2) took the lead on a fifth-minute Henry Martin goal off a set piece. Poplawski equalized off a Joe Swenson corner kick in the 14th minute.

Greg Seifert broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute. Then, Neumann scored on the rebound of a shot by junior Sam Wancowicz in the 67th minute, his career-high ninth goal of the season. The Quakers had two late goals disallowed for offside and Poplawski headed a shot off the line in extra time.

Penn will return to Roberts Stadium to conclude the season against Columbia at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, the match compensating for Harvard canceling its final two matches of the season after a ruling from Crimson administration concerning a sexual comments by players on social media.
