Explorer women maul George Mason

Deja Davis scored twice as the La Salle women's team snapped a seven-game winless streak with a 4-0 victory over George Mason in an Atlantic 10 Conference match at McCarthy Stadium Thursday night.

The Explorers (4-9-4 overall, 2-3-4 A-10) outshot the Patriots (12-6-0, 6-3-0), 22-4, earning their fifth shutout of the season.

Davis fired past Kirsten Glad off the far post off a Danielle Marx pass in the 13th minute. Marx then headed in a rebound of a Davis free kick that was mishandled by Glad in the 19th minute, her third goal of the season. Davis then scored her fifth goal of the season, chipping Glad off a Kristin Haugstad assist in the 62nd minute. Haugstad scored her second goal of the season, finishing a Marx assist in the 84th minute.
