Army-Navy Cup delayed until Nov. 3
CHESTER, Pa.-–Army-Navy Cup IV, scheduled for Friday, has been postponed until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3.
According to a release from the Philadelphia Union: "The forecast of high winds and heavy rains created a scenario believed to be unsafe for players, coaches and fans."
“Even though the Army-Navy Cup will be delayed, we continue to look forward to another installment in this great rivalry,” Army West Point Director of Athletics Boo Corrigan said. “This matchup has become one of the premier events of the college soccer season and we're excited to watch it continue to grow.”
“We are sorry for the inconvenience to so many but this is a matchup that is truly worth the wait,” Navy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk said. “The game may be delayed, but it will only enhance the anticipation for what always proves to be as fine a competitive setting as there is in college soccer.”
All tickets purchased and distributed with Friday night’s date will be accepted on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Monitor www.philadelphiaunion.com and www.pplpark.com for additional information.
